DMA POSTER

The goal of this poster design was to design a new branding for an existing museum. From the new brand, the next stage was to curate a poster to promote an upcoming exhibition or exhibitions. The challenge was designing a poster with a hierarchy of information and designing an interesting new identity for the museum. I decided to choose the Dallas Museum of Art. I kept the integrity of the current design by choosing a similar type and color. By stacking the letters and including both the abbreviation, DMA, as well as the full name, I was able to effectively design the new letter form. Within the poster, I explored three different options. I explored the use of red as the poster background to grab the attention of the audience. I also explored contrasting the red with a gray, as well as having a simplistic palette with a more elevated, interesting design composition.
